- It’s weird 
how a shadow knows the shape of you
better than most people do.
It’s quiet, loyal,
a little too honest sometimes.

It’s something you have to learn,
To learn to live with the imprint,
the outline,
the part that sticks around
when everything else leaves early.

I keep trying to be okay with that.
Me and the shadow,
learning the same song
at different volumes. -
